Objective: Lower body emphasis strength and power. Technique: Start with a semi-squatting position with the feet parallel and shoulder width apart. Use an alternate grip with hands and arms outside the legs. Stand to an erect position while keeping the arms extended. Roll the shoulders back to ensure a complete movement of the exercise. Lower slowly or drop if using rubberised plates on a sprung floor when lifting very heavy weights.
