A sin binned player seriously weakens a side (as seen in the Tri Nations opener), but are there any tips to ensure the team doesn't go down heavily during that time?

Maybe there is a different approach whether a forward / back is off.

Also of course the reverse question - how do you best benefit from an extra player?

Would be great to teach some smart tactics to my team.

Hi Zweli

From a mental point of view you need your team to buy into the idea that just because they have one man down, it doesn't mean they cant score or even hold out the other team. There are countless examples of teams scoring with 14 men, however if your team choses to give up and wait from them to come score - that will create their reality.

Ideally you want to help your team understand the opportunity of having 14 men, most teams facing 14 would be surprised and shocked to having to defend an all out attack - that shock and surprise could be the edge for your team.

Losing a man mentally is entirely what you make of it. Make it work for you.
