Barbell Step Ups

Objective: Full body explosive power. Technique: Stand upright holding a dumbbell in one hand in front of your body. Drop into a squat position with thighs parallel to the floor partially supporting your weight on your thigh with your empty hand. Immediately accelerate upwards through a combined leg and hip drive, assisted by explosively pulling the dumbbell upwards with the arm. Continue accelerating the dumbbell up past your head to end with your arm fully extended standing upright. Lower the dumbbell to the original start position slowly and repeat.
